FAQs

  • What does a BAS Agent do?

A BAS Agent is registered with the Tax Practitioners Board and authorised to provide BAS-related services under Australian tax law. This can include preparing and lodging BAS and IAS, reviewing GST coding and managing certain ATO interactions on behalf of a business. BAS Agents work within a defined scope of registration and must meet ongoing compliance and professional education requirements. Registration details can be verified through the Tax Practitioners Board register. Businesses should confirm a provider is appropriately registered before engaging BAS-related services.

  • When Is It Time to Hire a Bookkeeper for Your Business?

It's usually time to hire a bookkeeper when:

    • You start a new business and you don’t understand how to do your bookkeeping.

    • You regularly fall behind on bookkeeping.

    • BAS preparation causes stress.

    • You're unsure if your figures are accurate.

    • Your business is growing.

    • You're spending more time on admin than serving customers.

    • You want clearer financial information to make business decisions.

If bookkeeping is keeping you awake at night, it's probably time.

  • How to Find a Good Bookkeeper for Your Small Business

    Look for someone who:

    • Has relevant experience.

    • Understands your industry.

    • Is a Registered BAS Agent.

    • Has positive reviews or referrals.

    • Communicates clearly.
